With a click of a finger and a wink of an eye, William is another year older. He is loving Pre-school and is getting more and more confident on his bike (minus the training wheels) with each day. We just had a quiet little Birthday lunch with just the neighbours over. I put the idea of a class party out there, but this is what Will wanted.
William’s favourite things at the moment are Dragons and Robots. So for his birthday he got a dragon and a spidersapian robot and a dinosaur that moves its head and roars. Will has barely stopped smiling all day, The Party finished off with a Dragon birthday cake I made. He was stoked. I forgot to put the wings on, so don’t mistake it for a dinosaur.
Ethan has been sitting for a few weeks now. Next stage crawling. I can wait for that. He is saying dada and is starting to wave, which is very cute. He is getting a decent coverage of hair. It doesn’t look like it will be as blonde as we originally thought. Not like Xavier’s anyway. He is a happy and healthy little boy.
We headed to the Leanyer Rec/Water Park on Sunday with the neighbours We all had a swim in the pool as well as going in the water playground side. Ethan really enjoyed it. Which is good, swimming lessons for all the boys start next term.
We stopped going to the rec park for a few months, the water got a bit cold for the couple of months the nights got below twenty. It sounds like we are acclimatizing, sad but true.
Today is another milestone day in the development of William, he has learnt how to ride his bike without his training wheels. We have been telling him that we would by him a bigger bike for his 4th birthday if he learns how to ride his old one before his birthday (21 Sept 08), looks like we are off to the shops.
Today was our neighbours eldest daughters fifth birthday party. It was a fairy party but super heroes were welcome. William and Xavier flew all the way there.
There was a face painter there call ‘Fairy Jill’. She does really good work and quick. Will chose to become ‘Super Tiger Man’. Xavier decided it wasn’t his kind of thing. He wanted to remove his superness half way through the party but managed to talk him around with my super mummy powers. Baby caped crusader was all partied out after an hour and spent the rest of the party snoozing in his portable bat cave.
Today we received Williams first school photo. He is now starting term three in Wanguri Pre-school, he started early so he will have to do pre-school again next year.

It still amazes me how much he can grow in just one month.
I have a feeling this little cheeky little fellow is going to keep me busy.
As I write this I am watching a show about three English people, shoved in a house by their loved ones because they have a obsessive compulsive disorder. One woman has been unable to touch another person in three years. This includes her husband and children. She uses tissues to do everything. This all stemmed from a miscarriage due to infection. It makes me wonder how easy it could be to slip into one of these disorders.
My neighbours mother stayed with her for two months after the arrival of her third daughter. Her husband is in deployed over seas. A house cleaner comes every week for five hours, then her mother cleans the house again for the next three hours… at least. Is my neighbours mum on her way to becoming like this, unable to touch, or constantly washing her hands? I cant see myself becoming a cleaning compulsive, but who knows what could spark a disorder, whatever the particular obsession is.
I used to know one person who, if she didn’t wash herself in the shower in a particular order, she would start over. Sometimes it meant returning to the shower after dressed. This is what she told me anyway. I found out after the friendship dissolved that she had bigger issues than this, but that’s a whole other story.
Have a think about it, do you have anything a bit quirky that could get out of hand?
